Testing and Tools
I don’t know about you, but when I finished treatment and my oncologist said, “Okay, see you in six months!”, my head spun a little. I had just spent the last year and a half going to the cancer centre at least once every three weeks and seeing my oncologist every three months. Now, I just wasn’t going to see anybody for six?? I felt totally adrift and pretty freaked out about the fact that all I was going to be getting in terms of screening was one scan a year. A lot can happen in a year.
With the help of my naturopaths, integrative doctor, and my own research, I started learning about different tests and tools that I could use to help me stay on top of my health in between visits to my oncologist. I will be adding posts here about the various tests, scans, and tools that I have used or use to help you discover what options are available to discuss with your healthcare team. They have helped me to feel more confident and less fearful day-to-day, and I hope they do the same for you. Any questions, leave a comment on the post!
